Frequently asked questions
Straight answers on tax handling, B2B, pricing and what runs where.
Webito is a hosted commerce platform for selling to both consumers and businesses from one backend. It differs from general store builders in that European VAT determination, OSS threshold tracking and EN 16931 e-invoicing are part of the core order pipeline rather than paid add-ons, and B2B mechanics such as company accounts, tiered price lists and quote requests run on the same catalogue as the retail shop.
Yes. Webito determines the applicable rate per order line from the destination country, the product's tax category and the buyer's status. Consumer sales inside the EU are charged at the destination rate once you pass the €10,000 EU-wide distance-selling threshold; business buyers with a VAT number validated against VIES are handled as intra-community supplies under reverse charge. Rates and categories stay editable, so you keep control of edge cases your accountant cares about.
Webito keeps a running total of your cross-border B2C sales for the calendar year, broken down by destination country, and compares it against the €10,000 EU-wide threshold. Below the threshold you can keep charging your home-country rate; above it, place of supply moves to the customer's member state and Webito switches to destination rates so the figures you declare through OSS match what you actually charged.
Webito generates invoices and credit notes as structured documents following the EN 16931 semantic data model and the Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 specification. That is the format the EU's ViDA package makes the default for intra-EU B2B from 1 July 2030, and the basis of most national mandates already in force. You keep your buyers' electronic addresses on their company records so documents carry the routing identifiers required for exchange.
Yes, and that is the design point rather than a workaround. One catalogue serves both: retail customers see consumer pricing with VAT applied as usual, while company accounts see their assigned price list, tier breaks, quick order pad, quote requests and net payment terms. You do not run two stores or duplicate products.
Webito serves the EU and EEA plus the United Kingdom, with the UK and Greece as first-wave markets. You can price in multiple currencies with per-currency rounding rules rather than relying on a single live conversion, and the storefront and dashboard are available in English, Persian, Arabic, French, Greek, Spanish and Chinese.
No. Day-to-day operations, products, stock, orders, pricing, tax categories, content pages and theme design tokens, are all handled in the dashboard without code. Developers are optional and get a documented storefront API, webhooks and a plugin system when you want a custom front end or an integration that does not exist yet.
Plans are monthly and priced in euro, starting with a free tier that includes a real catalogue, VAT determination and a live storefront. Webito does not take a percentage of your sales; payment processing fees are charged by your gateway, not by us. Wholesale features, e-invoicing volume and additional storefronts are what separate the paid tiers.
Yes. You map your own domain with certificates issued and renewed automatically, and your catalogue, customers and orders remain exportable through the API at any time. Webito operates as a GDPR data processor on your behalf, with a data processing agreement and the cookie consent surface your storefront needs.
Webito is headless by architecture: the admin backend and the storefront are separate, and the storefront reads through an API. In practice you have two choices: use the included themes and design-token editor and never think about it, or ignore the bundled storefront and render your own front end against the API while still getting tax, orders and B2B logic from the platform.
